The New Calendar Book


I N T R 0 D U C T I 0 N

If it is true that our species stands at the beginnings of an evolutionary leap in its consciousness, then a major ingredient in this new millenium order must be an entirely new means of conceiving and ordering time.

We of the New Calendar Society are proposing the Tree Calendar, to insure that this manifested mindfulness is sensitive to, and harmonious with, our earth. Cosmic awareness in life expresses itself through the material, bodily plane. Our deepest understanding of the earth is to see our kinship: we truly are the cycles, from the birth and death of seconds to the wearing away of thousands and thousands of years.

The Tree Calendar is 6000 years old. It was originally given to Samuel Settingsun in a dream in the desert in 1955. A similar calendar was described by Robert Graves in 1961 in his book, The White Goddess. The Tree Calendar was used by a neolithic, Mediterranean civilization now only known as The People of the Sea. The full name of their calendar is The Sacred Alphabet-Tree Calendar of the People of the Sea.

This book is a "how to" manual, so that you may begin to celebrate the New Calendar in your city, town or neighborhood, alone or in a group.

Introduction to the New Calendar Society--a talk by Victor Greentree in 1989 explaining the need for a new calendar and how it will emerge.

How and Why I Got the Tmeirafodu from Samuel Settingsun--a personal statement by Victor Greentree relating the events in his life that led to his receiving the Tree Calendar, its consequences for him, and about his psychic connection to Samuel Settingsun.
