SYNOPSIS OF THIS SITE
Circle of the EarthTM(COETM) is a vision for a radical change in the way the human species lives on this planet. It is the intuitive creation-child of Abe Frankel, its founder.
We believe the future order of humankind will be imagined and formulated by artists and that art must be redefined. As Robert Graves put it, these"New Artists" will be "priests and judges as
well."Art began as shamanism. "New Art" will have two aspects:
 How did art begin?What can religious studies teach us? What can we learn in the bones
and caves of pre-history, at the dawn, when man was just separating
from the apes in a glimmer of cold light? |
it will be spiritual and, like shamanism, it will closely ally us with the spiritual forces of the earth and nature.
Specialists in the arts of trance and "other reality" knowledge through the Religious Feeling State, New Artists thus will become important sources for the decisions made by societies.
Our perspective of our human history would be this: Originally, as hunters and gatherers, we were tribal and everyone knew the powers of the earth and universe through their own personal, transcendent religious experience. Religion equaled drumming, music and dance. Gradually in the late Stone Age, a shift occurred. Societies became increasingly class conscious, stratified and specialized. Writing brought a shift in religion from music--and thus a unification of our minds and bodies, material with the spiritual--to "the word" and then holy books of the words of prophets. Religion came to equal language; the mind was made superior to the body; and personal, individual transcendent religious experience was replaced by an order of priests and specialists who's knowledge of "the word" made them intermediaries for societies-at-large.
 Some think that their religion is the only one that is right. And yet, there is only one religion and that is no religion. WE ARE ALL ONE. |
The Religious Feeling State has led us to develop our own religious practice. What is religion? We say,in part, that it is that system of healing which links body to spirit. Ours seeks to find the underlying, archetypal knowledge common to humans.
Historically, too, we believe that the "major religions"--which can be seen in many ways as one: a religion of the holy land--became solely focused upon a Sky God(non-feminine, of heaven) and thus had no awareness of the "Missed Commandment" that could have made all of the difference:
Although the details of the coming of Circle of the EarthTM are many and varied, here are three that we would like to mention:
1. We call COETM a "world wide mind-spirit web." When enough people globally have joined us--after they have come to know themselves, the principles of Circle of the EarthTM, and how to enter various states of trance and contact the powers of the Earth--we as a group will manifest a Circle in space and time. This Circle of energy will enclose the planet. It will be a psychic projection of "COETM."
2. Another important detail will be a new (but 
very old) earth calendar. The calendar that we propose is called "The Tmeirafodu" or "The Tree Calendar of the People of the Sea." Someday, we shall have simultaneous, glorious celebrations, globally enacted and linked, commemorating the solstices, the equinoxes and the phases of the moon. Not limited to one religious group, or one region, or one race, these shall be celebrated by the entire species together.
3. Right now, the earth is going through a process of cleansing. "Earth-time" is measured in cycles: things must die so that new things may grow. Without death, there cannot be new life. The forces in existing human societies, the institutions which prevent the coming of Circle of the EarthTM, are too ingrained in our culture, too powerful. They must first cease to exist. We have nothing to do with these things. They are beyond our control. These changes have already begun and are coming. And an important part of Circle of the EarthTM manifestation will be to prepare for this change as best we can. We must be ready for, and be a part of, this process. CELEBRATE THE DYING!
